Last night, I watched my cat systematically knock every ornament off the bottom third of the tree, pause to assess her work, then continue. She maintained eye contact the entire time.
Christmas week with a cat is less “Silent Night” and more “What was that crash?” It’s realizing your carefully wrapped presents make excellent launching pads. It’s accepting that any decoration at cat height is essentially a rental. Cats don’t care about your holiday aesthetic. They’re here to remind you who really runs this house.
