Did you know January 6th is the official day you’re supposed to take down your Christmas decorations? Something about the Twelve Days of Christmas ending on Epiphany, which is today. Very traditional, very proper.
I’m not taking them down though. Actually I’m still wishing people “Merry Christmas” to establish dominance. The tree stays up until it’s a fire hazard, the lights stay on until they burn out, and anyone who has a problem with it can deal with it in therapy.
That’s the energy we’re bringing into this Monday. Defiant, slightly unhinged, refusing to acknowledge that the holidays are over because nobody’s ready to go back to normal life yet.
