I read a lot of webcomics. Like, an embarrassing amount. After a while, you start to see the punchlines coming from a mile away—which is why I get genuinely excited when a comic still manages to pull the rug out from under me in the final panel.
That’s exactly what Ryan Rds does so well. His funny comics look simple and innocent at first, then suddenly take a sharp turn into clever, sometimes dark, always hilarious territory. The setup lulls you into a false sense of security… and then bam, unexpected twist.
