30 Landlord “Di-Why” Fails That Should Lower Your Rent
Since buying our own place, my wife and I have learned a lot by having to DIY fix things, but it’s different than when we rented our last apartment. They’d DiWHY everything.
We went 3 days without a working toilet and practically had to do it ourselves until finally the landlord DiWHY’d the thing. One problem: the toilet he bought was too big for the space, so rather than order the correct size, he just hammered away at the plaster wall until there was a hole big enough.
Sometimes I miss that apartment, but then I remember this, wondering if that water is frozen solid. When I see landlord repairs online like these, it makes me happy I don’t have to deal with painted-over light switches and outlets anymore.
