I used to work for a general contractor, and one thing that job taught me very quickly is that a shocking number of problems come down to someone simply not doing the one thing they were supposed to do.
I’m not talking about complicated engineering fails either, I mean the kind of mistakes where you look at it and think, how did this even happen?
When you work around construction long enough, you see plenty of shortcuts, lazy decisions, and head-scratching errors that make everyone else’s job harder.
It’s wild how often one person’s careless mistake turns into a whole new problem for someone else to fix.
