I’ve been rescuing dogs my whole life, and at this point I can say without hesitation that my love for them runs deeper than anything I’ve ever felt for people.
Dogs don’t play games, they don’t hold grudges, and they’re always just genuinely happy you exist. It’s a pretty easy choice when you think about it.
So when I see people joking about choosing their pets over literally anyone else, I don’t even see it as a joke. I get it completely.
