I’ve worked a lot of awful jobs over the years, and one thing you learn very quickly is that some business owners genuinely do not see their employees as human beings.
To them, workers are just numbers on a spreadsheet standing between them and slightly bigger profits. Meanwhile those same employees are the entire reason the business functions at all.
That’s what makes this Reddit story so infuriating. An employee shared how their already profitable boss floated the idea of cutting everyone down to minimum wage while also absorbing employee tips just to squeeze out even more money.
Nothing says “totally out of touch” quite like trying to make your workers poorer so the owner can get richer.
