Every time I go to Aldi, I feel financially responsible and deeply overwhelmed at the same time. I came for a few groceries and somehow left thinking about buying a chainsaw.
That’s the Aldi Aisle of Shame experience though. You go in with a list. You have a plan. And then right there between the yogurt and the checkout line there’s a pressure washer on sale for forty dollars and suddenly you’re a person who needs a pressure washer.
At that price it feels irresponsible not to at least consider it. I’ve brought home an air mattress, a set of gardening tools, and a rain gauge from that aisle. I don’t have a garden, and I’ve never once checked the rain gauge. No regrets.
