I used to make fun of my dad for watching the weather like it was appointment television. Every night without fail, he tuned in specifically for the forecast, genuinely invested in what was coming on Wednesday. I didn’t get it. And now I am fully that person.
I’ve got a storm rolling in tomorrow and I’ve checked the radar four times today and I will check it four more times before bed and there’s nothing I’m going to do with any of that information except watch it happen from my balcony like a completely normal Midwesterner who has made peace with the weather.
