45 Delicate Miniature Art Pieces By Ana Sofía Casaverde That Get Better The Closer You Look
There’s something almost unfair about miniature art. A huge painting can take up a whole wall and still not really grab you, but shrink something down to the size of a coin and suddenly you can’t look away, because you know exactly how much patience that took to make.
Ana Sofía Casaverde, an artist and interior designer from Peru, has built her whole craft around that kind of patience. Using paper and a few other simple materials, she makes tiny scenes, objects, and figures, including mini versions of famous artworks, all packed with detail that barely seems possible at that size. A lot of her pieces get photographed next to a fingertip or sitting in someone’s open hand, not just for show, but because that’s really the only way to understand how small and careful the work actually is.
Here are some of her most delicate pieces, the kind that only show off their best details once you slow down and actually look.
