I’m a fan of cats, and I’ve been on the fence about getting another one for longer than I’d like to admit. The thing is, I know exactly what I’m signing up for. It’s not a pet, it’s a small creature that lives in your house and has decided, at some point before you even brought it home, that you work for it now.

My dog at least pretends to care about my opinion. A cat will knock something off a counter while making direct eye contact with you, and that’s not an accident, that’s a statement.
