40 Nostalgic Memes For The Generation That’s Not Quite Gen X, Not Quite Millennial
My dad still calls himself a Baby Boomer even though he was born in 1965, technically making him Gen X, and watching him argue about this at Thanksgiving every year is its own kind of tradition at this point. I get it though, generational labels are messy, and there’s a whole group of people born in that late ’70s to early ’80s window who never really got a clean label either, the so-called Xennials. Too young for mixtapes to be a defining memory, too old to remember a world with smartphones already in it. You end up fluent in two different cultural languages without a passport to either one.
These memes speak directly to that group. Furniture-sized TVs, unsupervised bike rides across entire towns, the specific thrill of a teacher wheeling in an AV cart. Built for the Xennials who’ve spent years explaining which side of the fence they actually belong on.
