40 Married Women Share The Worst Examples Of “Weaponized Incompetence” From Their Husbands
I don’t want to brag, but I’ve been married for almost three years and still haven’t done anything worthy of my wife posting online about my incompetence. I’m not saying I’m perfect, but after reading these stories, I’m almost certain I belong near the top of the decent husbands list I’m making up right now.
Weaponized incompetence is when someone pretends to be bad at a task, or does it poorly on purpose, so another person eventually gives up and handles it for them. It’s basically turning “I don’t know how” into a household chore strategy.
I feel bad for these women, but if there were ever an argument for living with your partner before marriage, this is it. Imagine marrying someone and only then discovering they leave their toenail clippings exactly where they clipped them. That feels like important information to have before combining bank accounts.
The married women in these stories are sharing the worst examples of weaponized incompetence they’ve witnessed from their husbands, and suddenly remembering to replace the toilet paper roll feels like an act of heroism.

Not sure what I’m more upset at, the fact that I almost washed back dog kibble or that I actually find this hilarious

13. How my husband wrote the date that he opened this orange juice

14. Asked my husband to hang the clothes

Apparently there was no more space in the rack and everything else were “small items” (kids tshirts, socks and shorts) needless to say, nothing at the top got dry..

20. I spent over 2 hours on this casserole and asked my husband to put it away while I put the kids to bed, this morning I found it still on the stove

This is an old recipe passed down to me by my grandma and it is my favourite meal to make at the beginning of September. Prepping the veggies and meat takes a lot of time because they have to be layered and somewhat uniform.
Anyways, I finally finished it in the oven, right when I had to put the kids to bed so I asked my husband to put it away for me (I even had clean Tupperware left out right beside it) and he said he would.
I didn’t end up going back downstairs last night and after the kids were asleep just brushed my teeth and went to bed.
I woke up this morning and came downstairs to find it still sitting on the stovetop.
21. Morning infuriation: husbands “helps” to clean med cabinet by combining ALL the allergy pills in one bottle. Whether they’re the same or not. (Hint…they’re not)

Generic Zyrtec, Benadryl (pink)and Claritin (I think…round) all in the same bottle and their own bottles gone. (Claritin he takes sometimes so he just thinks it’s the exact same as my Zyrtec.) Claritin and Zyrtec are similar in action but not the same. Benadryl? Nighty night…for allergies but it’s also the active ingredient in over the counter sleep meds.

26. Brand new $72 moisturizer. Husband said he needed something for his elbows.

27. Husband only put icing on his piece of cake.

28. I learned today that my husband doesn’t actually wash the pots we boil pasta in. According to him they aren’t actually dirty since it was just boiling water. I am appalled

I caught this when I walked in on him washing dishes and he only rinsed the pasta pot and put it right back in the cupboard. It wasn’t even dry yet
29. My husband leaves gunk in sponges/scrubbers after washing dishes

It used to be this and leaving the sopping wet sponges at the front of the sink which would drip down the cabinets onto the floor. So at least he’s halfway there?
30. This is not what I sent my husband to the store for

Sent my husband to the store for paper towels and a few other items. Comes back with pie and only pie. I ain’t too mad about it, because yeah, I’m gonna eat some pie, but it sure would be nice to have some paper towels to wipe my mouth with afterwards.
31. This is how my husband put his leftovers in the fridge

32. My husband is physically incapable of finishing a bag of chips.

Why are people like this!!?? Every single bag still has chips in it. The Dorito bag has like 4 chips and crumbs…. Who leaves 4 chips in a bag!??! I think he might be insane 😉
33. My husband will never close a draw or shut a cupboard

34. Where my husband dumps his dirty clothes vs where the laundry basket is

35. My Husband NEVER empties the vacuum after using it. He let’s it build up until it’s so full it stops working properly to empty it

Despite me telling my husband every single time he uses the vacuum to empty it after every use, he STILL doesn’t empty it until til it stops working properly. It’s a small stick vacuum, so it’s not like it’s a daunting task ….
