Restaurants have started using AI images in menus, flyers, and social media ads, and people online are losing their appetites over the results. The food is always suspiciously shiny, and every sandwich looks like it was discovered growing under a rock.
One Chicago deli even went viral after its AI-generated menu turned an ordinary Reuben into something considerably more biological. The manager later explained that the images were temporary placeholders while the restaurant waited for signs featuring real photos. That’s understandable, but the internet had already seen the meat creature.
