40 Funny Airbnb Tweets From Guests Who Paid A Cleaning Fee And Still Got Assigned Chores

Airbnb used to feel like you’d discovered a clever little travel hack. You could stay somewhere with a kitchen and pretend you owned a place in a different city.

Now, you book a two-night stay and receive a welcome message that reads as if you’re starting a new job. Strip the beds, start the laundry, take out the garbage, and please be gone by 8:45 a.m. There’s also a $300 cleaning fee, presumably for cleaning up after the cleaning you already did.

Hotels aren’t perfect, but nobody at a Holiday Inn has ever asked me to mow the lawn before checking out.

These funny Airbnb tweets come from guests who have dealt with expensive fees, bizarre rules, misleading listings, and hosts who seem surprised that another human being stayed in their rental for some reason.
