Bill Belichick’s Viral Sweatshirt Has The Internet Making Hilariously Wild Comparisons

UNC posted what should have been a completely normal football video this week. Head coach Bill Belichick sat down to recap the Tar Heels’ 2-0 start and preview their upcoming game against Clemson.

At least, I assume that’s what he discussed. Nobody online heard a word after seeing the gray Carolina sweatshirt fighting for its life.

The original video has racked up more than 10 million views, but probably not because everyone suddenly became super interested in UNC’s offensive scheme. Instead, people became fascinated by Belichick’s surprisingly prominent chest and started making comparisons to everything from an ancient fertility goddess to Bob from Fight Club.

UNC was simply trying to talk about football

The September 15 episode of Coach’s Corner featured Belichick and broadcaster Jones Angell discussing UNC’s win over East Tennessee State and the team’s upcoming ACC opener against Clemson.

Unfortunately, the coach’s sweatshirt had other plans.

The internet quickly lost focus

One of the first viral reactions complimented Belichick’s figure in language we cannot repeat here, but you know what they’re saying.

Another viewer compared him to an “ancient fertility goddess,” which is the kind of sentence nobody expected to read about Bill Belichick today.

The conversation eventually made its way to Sydney Sweeney, because the internet can connect any two subjects almost immediately.

Several people joked that Sweeney caught plenty of backlash for using her appearance to promote sports, while Belichick was apparently free to put on one tight sweatshirt and bring an entire football discussion to a halt.

It’s a compelling argument for equality. If we’re going to lose our minds, everyone deserves a turn.
