I don’t know how many people have to approve an NFL team’s new profile picture, but I’m guessing at least one of them took history in high school. I guess that person was out of the office.

The Atlanta Falcons shared a graphic featuring their original 1966 logo over stripes inspired by their old helmets. A little team nostalgia. Something for fans to appreciate before getting back to football.

Unfortunately, the combination reminded people of a considerably different chapter of history, and the reactions became something nobody at the Falcons asked for.

It reminded everyone of something from World War II class. People were making geographically specific military jokes. Naturally, someone also found a way to bring up the Falcons blowing a 28-3 lead. I’m sure this was all a huge mistake/misunderstanding, but the replies and roast jokes were worth it.

These were the best reactions.
