Job listings should include pictures of everything taped to the office refrigerator. “We’re a collaborative team” sounds great until you find out six people are currently arguing through handwritten notes about their missing lunch.

That’s useful information. I can learn everything else about the job, but I need to know the inner workings of the office kitchen.

I also love how much effort goes into an office note. Someone gets annoyed, then takes the time to create a document and print it out. Then another person reads it and adds their own little comment. It’s like Facebook but in real life.

These funny office notes offer the kind of workplace transparency you rarely get during an interview. The benefits package might be decent, but I’d like to hear more about whatever’s happening by the coffee maker.
