Some photos only exist because someone happened to be looking in exactly the right direction at exactly the right second. A step taken at the wrong time, a shadow lining up just right, two strangers crossing paths in a way that looks completely intentional even though it wasn’t.

That’s the entire appeal of street photography, catching something real before it disappears. It’s also the whole premise behind The Edge Street Photography Awards, a competition founded in 2025 by photographers Eve Dunlop and Dan Morris.

The awards wrapped their first full competition year in 2026, pulling together entries from photographers all over the world who happened to be in the right place holding a camera at exactly the right moment.
