I put way too much thought into things I post online. I’ll rewrite a sentence three times, decide it’s ridiculous, and close the app.
Meanwhile, somebody’s grandma is typing whatever comes to mind, hitting send, and going back to her afternoon. Her comment will be funnier than anything I’ve written all week.
That’s my favorite thing about older people on Facebook. They don’t seem particularly concerned with how a comment is going to land. Sometimes they have a question. Sometimes they have a complaint.
Sometimes they just want to tell a complete stranger something about their dog. I respect having that much confidence in the relevance of your own news.
