35 Funny And Nerdy Comics From Oddly Relatable ‘Amateur’ Cartoonist Brian Wonderful

We share a lot of comics on Pleated-Jeans, but even spending a few hours a week scouring the web for new comic artists doesn’t even come close to scratching the surface of the quality work being done by cartoonists, professional and amateur, so each week we try to find someone whose comics deserve a little more attention.

Enter “Brian Wonderful” AKA Brian Whitmarsh. This guy is an enigma wrapped in the kind of ordinary corporate gig you might not associate with comic book genius. By day, he’s the Director of IT Delivery and Enterprise Architecture for Schwan’s Home Delivery. Basically, he’s the guy making sure you get your frozen pizza on time while navigating a corporate maze of acronyms most of us would need a decoder ring for. By night, he transforms into Brian Wonderful, taking the seemingly random neurons firing in his brain and channeling them into comics.

What makes Brian “Wonderful,” you ask? For starters, he’s older than the Internet, or so he claims. A survivor of the early web, when using your real name online was considered as foolhardy as swimming in shark-infested waters. So, he’s got both the wisdom of the ages and the modern sensibility to cartoon his “stupid random thoughts”—which, honestly, are often the best kind.

So, sit back, maybe grab a frozen dinner courtesy of Schwan’s, and let’s dive into the sometimes nerdy, sometimes relatable world of Brian Wonderful. It’s a place where the mundane collides with the absurd, much like real life, but with fewer consequences and more punchlines.
