Were you a “gifted” STEM magnet-school type of student? I wasn’t. I was actually put into the “slow kid” math and reading group in 1st grade and didn’t really claw my way out of that mode until 10 years later when my SAT results came in. Oops, guess maybe a 25-year-old teacher who is only 2-3 years away from getting blackout at frat houses may not be the best at determining whether a kid is “slow” or not.
Clearly I have no hard feelings about it though.
But, you, you’re smart aren’t you. The kind of smart a teacher notices even if she’s a dummy herself. And that’s why you clicked on this nerdy STEM memes.
Do you need to be smart to get all of them? No, but it helps. Plus you might learn something. (I don’t think I’ll ever forget the difference between a Type I and Type II error, after #35.)
