Employee Vents About Expired Snacks At Work, Sparking Reactions Online

I’ve worked in plenty of places with a “snack basket,” and it’s always a gamble. Sometimes you get a fresh bag of chips, other times you’re basically eating dust.

That’s why this post on r/antiwork hit me so hard. Someone refilled the break room basket, only the snacks looked way past their best-by date.

Naturally, this triggered quite a reaction from the r/antiwork community, but it should bug anyone who’s ever had a job. Of course, folks in the comments pointed out that it’s free…who cares, throw them away if they taste like garbage.

Others would argue it’s the principle of the whole thing. Like, what? These cheap snacks aren’t free for us employees until you legally can’t sell them? Thanks for being so kind.

It’s the kind of office moment that feels way too familiar, and honestly, I don’t know whether to laugh or just pack my own snacks from now on.
