Nature does not have a size limit, and nobody told it to stop. Neither, apparently, do some vegetables, certain breeds of dog, and at least one wasp colony that clearly had a very productive summer. There’s a whole corner of the internet dedicated to documenting this, and it’s called r/AbsoluteUnits.
The premise is simple. You find something unreasonably, almost offensively large. You take a picture. You post it because keeping that to yourself would be wrong. A crab that looks like it could open its own restaurant. A sunflower taller than the house it’s growing next to. A head of cabbage that could make enough coleslaw for a year.
The subreddit has been collecting these moments for years, and the submissions just keep getting better. I guess you could say this list is an absolute unit of absolute units.
