Well, it’s peak summer here in the Midwest, which means blue skies, perfect temps, and hanging out at the lake.

Just kidding. We’ve got a diarrhea virus outbreak, 80-plus degree heat, and the new annual tradition of Canadian wildfire smoke rolling in and setting off air quality alerts.

I don’t mean to be all doom and gloom, but it’s hard not to be when you actually think about how serious this stuff is, and how daunting it feels to fix any of it, if that’s even possible at this point.
