I used to be the director at a YMCA summer camp. At the end of every summer, we’d take the kids out to the woods on a big camping trip. That night while the kids slept, the counselors and I would take shifts staying up and keeping watch. During my shift, I heard a commotion near the trashcans, and when I went to inspect I found two raccoons. They were breaking into the park’s newly installed “raccoon-proof trashcans.” One was boosting the other up so it could reach under the “raccoon-proof” park and pull the release. It was amazing. They really do seem like tiny people in raccoon suits. Anyway, I love them and wanted to do a post about them, so here you go.
