Shelter Cat Had To Be Put In Solitary Confinement Because It Was Helping Other Cats Escape

This is Quilty, a shelter cat at the Friends for Life shelter in Houston, Texas. Don’t let the cute face fool you, he’s a master at the art of jailbreaking.

According to the shelter, Quilty needed to be contained in the shelter’s lobby because he would routinely let cats out of the senior room.

The shelter even had to go through the trouble of “Quilty-proofing” the premises.

Hahaha like that could contain the legendary Quilty.

Once there was no longer a kennel, Quilty’s escape options became…limited.

But do you think that stopped Quilty? Absolutely not. He later snuck out of his room behind an employee and then has to be “perp-walked” back to his “cell”.

That was the end of it, right? Nope! He did this 3-5 more times, each time being caught but never giving up.

Quilty’s reaction after being recaptured each time has earned him the nickname “spicy a-hole”.

Look at this brilliant cat. They won’t be able to contain him forever.

Quilty became notorious after the shelter posted his escapades on their facebook post, spurring the shelter to update Quilty’s headshot, which he, of course, hated.

They even made #FreeQuilty merch, with the proceeds going directly to the shelter.

Now, you may be wondering if Quilty is still locked up and brewing his next escape attempt. You’ll be happy to learn he is currently having his first sleepover with potential adopters!
